What, When And How Long?
Studying by distance learning is extremely flexible. It gives you a huge amount of control over where you study, when you can start, and how long your studies will take you. You can study anywhere in the world, start at any time and study a subject over a few months or up to two years – whichever suits you best.
As an art student you will need to set aside a space indoors for your studies that will remain mainly undisturbed. There may well be some outdoor work specified in your course, but there are times during the year when this isn't practical and/or you may meet with problems finding somewhere suitable to paint. If this is the case, your tutor will advise you as to suitable indoor or near-to-home subjects that you might paint instead.
You can begin your studies whenever you like. The courses in this section require lots of practice for you to develop your skills, so while studying through the course book and doing the activities may only take, for example, 50 or 60 hours, you may find you double that with your tutor-marked assignments. You'll probably also benefit from setting aside a few minutes for reading and/or practice most days so that you don't "go rusty".
