Getting funding for your course
It's obviously helpful if you can get funding for your course. We can’t list all of the sources of help available to you, but here are some ideas for how you can get support in paying your fees.
Don’t forget that different options may be available in different regions. It’s always worth checking to see what’s on offer in your area.
Details are correct (as far as we know) at time of writing.
Your employer
A good place to start is by asking your employer whether there's money available for your training. After all, it benefits them as much as it does you. Here are some more reasons for studying by distance learning that you can use with your employer. Please contact us if you'd like more advice on how to make a business case.
Enhanced Learning Credits
For students in the UK armed forces, the Enhanced Learning Credits scheme provides funding towards training at level 3 or above; check with your Education Officer to see exactly which courses are eligible. Our provider number is 1348.
Adult Learning Grants
If you’re on a restricted income and going back to study for your first full Level 2 or first full Level 3 qualification, you may be eligible for an Adult Learning Grant. ALG is intended to help out with costs like travel and books while you’re studying. It supports study related to business (including administration), services, and media. For ALG advice and applications, call the learndirect advice line on 0800 100 900 or go to the ALG website.
