Taking exams with ICSA
We will provide you with course material and tuition, but it is the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators that you have to contact in order to take exams. We can’t arrange your exams for you, although we will help as far as possible if you get into difficulties.
Each course has its own exam. Exams are held around the world each June and November. Certificate exams are two hours long; Diploma exams are three hours long. You will be sent some notes on a real life business situation (a "case study") six weeks before the exam which you must carefully analyse and prepare for.
You sit your exams at the nearest available ICSA exam centre. You will need to register with ICSA as a studying member, and then pay your exam fees. It’s your responsibility to do this by ICSA’s deadlines.
You should obtain full information on sitting exams from the Institute as soon as you can; what we’ve printed here is only a summary. Register with ICSA as soon as you can, too, so as to gain access to its member services.
